A New Milestone for Selfasteam
March 23, 2025 – The final day of the long fast we committed to last year. My intuition tells me to document my feelings today because this marks a new milestone.
This is the fifth cohort of Selfasteam’s collective long fast. It’s no longer the kind of fasting from over a decade ago, which lacked integrity and discipline. Each cohort presents a unique experience, and each phase leaves behind a deeper and more enduring commitment.
Following my instincts, I invited a few individuals who initially had no intention of taking on this challenge. Without using provocation, I encouraged them by painting a vision of the destination. Their swift and positive responses deeply moved me.
To those who are curious about fasting but find it unfamiliar, I say, “The true masters are here.” And I always add, “We don’t fast because we enjoy it, but because we understand the necessity of it.” The widely shared motto, “Act when it’s time, move as soon as you know,” has inspired a dedicated community that cherishes their bodies.
The view inside the door is vastly different from the one outside. Watching from the sidelines is not the same as stepping in with courage. Being a spectator is easy; joining the race takes resolve. Most people remain onlookers, unaware of the inner struggles within each participant.
Selfasteam is entering a brand-new era. While our core programs remain unchanged, the depth and intensity of our learning will evolve. As the first servant of this movement, I must approach my personal time management with even greater discipline.
Many participants will step off the Selfasteam stage at this point—that’s the reality of life. We extend our hands to train the next generation stepping into their prime, as well as the generation after them while we still have the chance to guide them.
With responsibility comes an ever-expanding vision. The moment we redefine health, we know the time is ripe.
Over the next ten to twenty years, all conventional health doctrines will be overturned. Four years ago, when I first introduced the advanced course in Taitung, I had already prepared for this realization.
Health is not about nutrition; it is about life itself. This fundamental lesson from our beginner’s course has now evolved into a new definition: “Love yourself, be yourself, and help others.”
You must reach this level of awareness to see the medical system’s blind struggle with pain and to truly grasp the body’s limitless potential.
This is a personal milestone in my growth and a significant milestone in Selfasteam’s commitment to a higher purpose. At this stage, our Taipei volunteers are a crucial force, and the members who have completed long fasts in previous cohorts are the golden seeds for the next phase of Selfasteam.
When the call for the next long fast sounds, it’s no longer a question of “Can I do it?” or “Do I dare?”—it’s a responsibility you cannot shirk. A responsibility to yourself, to your family, and to this land.
If your mindset is still stuck on “Can I?”, then continue your studies. You must elevate yourself to the level of “leading by example.”
Every long fasting warrior embodies the spirit of “If not me, then who?” They fully own their journey. Over 90% of them are self-sufficient and independent. Some conveyed through their eyes: “Don’t doubt me—I will do this!”
I once asked a participant who doubted whether she could complete a seven-day fast: “What were you doing at this exact time last week?” After she answered, I asked again: “Didn’t those seven days pass in a blink?”
Using the same approach, I tell those who have completed a seven-day fast: “One week passes in a blink—just blink three times, and you’re there!” After a week of fasting, I remind new participants: “Copy and paste twice, and you’ve reached the summit!”
Those with strong motivation don’t even need these reminders. Many warriors in this cohort belong to this category—they learn deeply and act decisively.
Why Must We Undertake Long Fasting?
This question must be answered by the fasting warriors themselves. The body’s responses are visible in their experiences—spectators can neither imagine nor understand them.
Experience has taught me that this is fate, an opportunity. Those who don’t believe in it give up the chance to change their lives. Those unwilling to try abandon the opportunity to collaborate with their own bodies.
The body’s ability to store waste is only our most superficial understanding. The ability to cleanse deep-seated toxins is what moves us after experiencing fasting. Even the most incredible miracles have happened.
You must personally grasp what “the most incredible miracles” truly mean. The body receives every intention we send, records every emotion we feel, and fulfills every request we make.
This is a story of mutual trust. If you don’t believe in your body or yourself, the beautiful results you hope for will never come. The story of long fasting is the story of trusting both your body and yourself.
Taiwan is a vital hub for fasting and holistic health. Selfasteam will leave its mark on the journey of purifying our planet. We will remember every participant who took part and express our deepest gratitude to these fasting warriors—who not only illuminated themselves but also lit the way for others.
Because of you, Selfasteam has the power to help more people who are willing to believe in themselves and their bodies. With heartfelt appreciation—thank you.
