Happiness, Luck, and Us

I opened a video of two foreigners living in Taiwan, listening to their interesting experiences and the reasons they love Taiwan. One sentence from the video made me think deeply:
“In Taipei, if you have no money, you have no friends; in Kaohsiung, if you have no friends, you have no money.”

I personally moved from Penghu to Taipei, choosing to live here only because I attended a university in Taipei. But as I became more familiar with the different cities in Taiwan, the question of where I would settle in the future began to stir in my thoughts.

There was no need to discuss this with anyone—Taipei’s truth had already settled in my heart. The foreigners’ observation was precise: Taipei is pragmatic, while Kaohsiung is warm-hearted.
Human warmth is a specialty of Taiwan, especially strong in the south. Having returned from Japan several times, I found it difficult to adjust to Taiwan’s social customs, but in terms of warmth and kindness, Taiwan still surpasses Japan.

To be born in Taiwan is a wise choice. The belief that human nature is inherently good finds its best proof in our land. As I enter a stage of life where I deeply reflect on the value of existence, I aspire to leave a meaningful legacy for this place.

Through years of writing and teaching, I have documented my insights into health education. Each book published marks a phase of my journey—more understanding, more growth, and a spirit that feels ever younger.
In reality, I am not young, but I insist on staying youthful at heart. It may sound stubborn, but the proof is in my own body—the feedback from my body confirms the wisdom of fasting and the profound realizations that come with it.

As I approach an age where I can live freely, I see the streets filled with elderly people. We are a wave being pushed toward aging by the younger generation. Sadly, most people reject the secret to growing older while staying young.
Simply reducing daily meals from three to one slows aging by two-thirds. It’s easy to understand, yet most people won’t accept it because their thinking is rigid, their minds blocked.

When people encounter this information, they have only two reactions: one says, “It’s too hard,” the other says, “I want to try.” The former makes up 80-90%, while the latter is less than 10%.
Those who believe in me emerge from this 10%. Those who say it’s hard rely on medicine, while those who are willing to try eventually break free from it. The world of health is divided by the presence or absence of pharmaceutical drugs.
Seeing elderly people swallowing handfuls of pills every day, I feel deep sorrow—an unspoken protest against the medical system.

From being raised in a medical environment to seeing the ugly side of the pharmaceutical world, I was never meant to oppose medicine, but I clearly understand the need to pass on this perspective.
“To achieve a goal by any means necessary is both human behavior and the philosophy of medicine.” This was something I wrote long ago. Human selfishness has been embedded in the booming pharmaceutical industry, creating a society that never truly understands what health is.

After years of deep reading, I have learned to sharpen my critical thinking, refusing to let my mind be controlled by others. This simple determination led me to explore the mysteries of the human body and marvel at the brilliance of nature’s design.
When teaching, I ask my students: “Do you know that you are the ultimate product of evolution?” Behind this question lies the delicate structure of sleep, the fascinating connection between the bile and pancreatic ducts, and the powerful balance of the gut-brain axis.

Then, I ask: “Do you know that your body does not need any medication?” “Do you know that your body does not need any vaccines?”
I am fully aware that over 90% of people in the world are far from realizing this truth.

A group of individuals, with the strongest willpower, commit to a three-week fasting journey. To them, I say:
“You are the pioneers of health. We are not just reaching new heights on this journey to understand the body—we are breaking barriers and making history.”

Growing up in a medical environment, I often describe my father’s nearly sixty-year-long profession as cruel and ruthless. This is because I have seen truths that most people cannot.
I witness people consuming handfuls of medication daily, being told that this is health—when in reality, it leads only to more severe illness.

The public’s perception should not merely be surpassed; it must be shattered. It has no place in the minds of those truly seeking the path to health. Health and medicine are like fish and bear’s paws—you cannot have both.

The path of the body has its depths. Taipei is where we first launched our mission, but I have always known that kindred spirits must be found in the south. The awakening force in Taiwan is gathering.

We are building a sanctuary that returns the body to its natural state of health. This is the great responsibility of our generation of Taiwanese. For the sake of future generations, we will not hesitate.

A project of happiness, a mission of fortune—taking on this responsibility is our greatest blessing.
